The 2012 MinnCAP Conference: Strategies for Sustainability will be held from 10:30AM on Wednesday, September 19 to Friday September 21, 2012 at 12:30PM at the Mayo Civic Center in Rochester, MN.

This conference will focus on partnerships and collaboration with in the Community Action network and our communities for training, networking, and program integration opportunities.

Breakout sessions topic areas:
Agency Operations – Sessions should focus on issues related to fiscal management, human resources, and program management.

Child and Family Education
– Sessions should focus on the changing federal and state landscape that defines high quality early care and education experiences. This could include effective business strategies for early education, leadership approaches for change, data-driven school readiness decisions, measuring classroom quality, and full-day/full-year service implementation.

Energy Assistance
– Sessions related to the Minnesota Energy Assistance Program.

Financial Fitness/Asset Development
– Sessions should focus on financial fitness, asset development, financial education, and family economic stability. These sessions could include program implementation and/or integration, best practices, etc.

Governance
– Sessions should focus on board governance, the role of a Community Action Board, board development and recruitment activities, executive management, and advocacy/legislative strategies.

Programs:
Sessions should focus on programs, other than those listed here, that are offered by Community Action Agencies (i.e. food support outreach, housing and homeless, senior services).

Staff Development
– Sessions could focus on stress and time management skills, self-care, and professional development.

Visions and Technology
– Sessions should focus on new software and hardware technologies to be used in Community Action; as well as Visions usage and implementation.

Weatherization
– Sessions should focus on topics for Weatherization coordinators and managers, auditors, inspectors, and fiscal personnel.
